Southwark Procurement Procurement is the process of buying goods, services and works in order to provide for the needs of the council, the community and its citizens both now and in the future.
In total, the council spends £725m a year on goods, works and services, ranging from the supply of stationery to the redevelopment of housing estates, in order to fulfil its responsibility to the community.
What we cannot provide directly we buy from outside. There are rules that we must follow to do this, on a European, national and local level.
Southwark Council has a unit called Southwark Procurement that ensures that the council buys correctly and achieves the best quality that it can with the money that it has available.
On this area of the site, you will be able to find information about how we buy, what we buy and how to do business with the council, including information about future procurements.
