Give Camberwell Green and Dickens Square the thumbs up! Join us in Camberwell Green and Dickens Square later this month for refreshments, music and the chance to vote to help your parks win money!
Forty-seven London parks were nominated to receive a grant of up to £400,000 and the 10 winners will be determined by a public vote. Camberwell Green and Dickens Square are in the running so now it’s up to you to make this happen.
To celebrate this fantastic opportunity, Southwark Council has organised two events in January where there will be music, activities for children and refreshments.
Come to Dickens Square on Friday January 16 between 2pm and 5pm or to Camberwell Green on Saturday January 17 between 11am and 2pm and join in.

How could £400,000 be spent?
If one or even both are successful, Southwark Council will use the grant money to make the parks more attractive and enjoyable for you to use.
In Camberwell Green a grant would help:
- improve entrances
- put up new interpretive signs
- public artwork
- new seating
- a refreshment kiosk as a meeting point
- attractive planting
- new loos!
In Dickens Square a grant would help:
- link all the spaces together
- create a more welcoming atmosphere
- develop an attractive garden in place of the present unofficial car park
- improve access and signage
- install lighting at key points
- install a cafe or kiosk by the adventure playground
