Debit or Credit Card over the Internet
You can pay online for
- Council tax
- Business rates
- Housing rent
- Leaseholder service charges
- Parking fines
- General invoices
If you have internet banking with your bank, you can pay direct from your bank account.
Southwark Council's website is secure, so debit and credit card details are encrypted (coded) as they travel across the internet. The server on which they are held has been certified for security by the council's bank. Debit and credit details are not retained in the system.
When you pay online
- There is no time restriction. The service runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week
- You can use your debit and credit card
- You can print a receipt after the transaction has been completed as proof of payment
You will need
You will need the following information for both phone and internet transactions
- Your payment reference number. This may be your rent account number, council tax account number, PCN number and car registration details or invoice number
- Your debit or credit card number including your 3 or 4 digit security code as shown on the back of the card
- Your address
- Your email address (optional)
Payments made will normally show on a customer's account the following working day. You can find the online payment page here.
