Peckham

SE15, it's one of the most exciting postcodes in London. Surprising, vibrant, cultured, edgy. Green spaces and urban grit, creativity, an amazing mixed community, poverty and challenges, youth and energy. Never a dull moment.

What's so good about Peckham?

  • Rye Lane with its rice, spice, fruit, vegetables and fashions from all over the world
  • Our arts and community festivals including I Love Peckham, Flavas and the literary festival
  • The redeveloped five estates area with new parks and sports facilities
  • Peckham Rye and Burgess Park's green spaces for sport, strolling, sunbathing
  • The award winning library, the town square and Surrey canal walk
  • Our tropical palm trees on an island (a traffic island)
  • Its diverse population with more than 100 languages spoken
  • Its future

Get involvedVegetables on Peckham market stall

Have your say in the decision making process through your community council or contact the Peckham Programme.

Preparations for the Peckham Area Action Plan are underway. This plan will change the face of the town centre and your experience of the area.

Getting involved in the process is your opportunty to tell us what sort of place you want Peckham to be in ten years time, what you like and dislike about the area, what should be changed and what should stay the same.

Peckham Programme works jointly with residents on all types of issues. For example local people are involved in planning for the future use and running of Central Venture Park. Contact Pauline Bonner on 020 7525 1019.

We also run some community centres, which have a mixture of rooms for hire for community activities. For more details contact Gareth Rees on 020 7525 1012.

There are over 150 local community and voluntary sector organisations in the wider Peckham area. Some, such as the Peckham Settlement, have roots as far back as the beginning of the century while others have only been existence for less than a year. What brings theme together is their passion and desire to improve Peckham. Contact Peckham Voluntary Sector Forum on 020 7358 9777.
